Alnico 4 Rough Bar Magnet 2.5 x .5 x .125 Magnetized

I've used these magnets to great results in swapping out the A5 or A2 magnets in pickups in the bridge position. Paired with an A3 magnet in the neck position, with approx resistance readings of 7.5 (neck) and 8.2 (bridge), I have gotten very PAF results.

High quality magnets that are dimensionally correct and consistent

I swapped the A5 magnet in a 9k bridge humbucker for this magnet and I really like the results. It is a classic rock machine now, with a bit of A2 creaminess and chime, but a firmer low end response plus a little extra compression. It is the best of the 70's in a bar.

Someone said that alnico 4 can be a great secret weapon in a bridge pickup. I had alnico 2 and wanted to try something different. Alnico 5, whether the strong version or the unoriented, put too much of a prominent resonant frequency in the tone. These rough cast A4 magnets were just the thing to knock down that peak and get a nice even tone in the bridge pup, so I don't have to turn down the tone knob as much. That way I can keep it brighter without being harshly piercing. I've got this magnet in an 8k and another 10k bridge pup.

Perfect magnet for PAF replicas. Cast just like the original. I personally use these in all of my guitars and to me give the most natural sound to any pickup. Always have helped clean a muddy neck pickup in a Les Paul. Not every one's cup of tea but worth a try at this price.
