A3 Rough Bar magnet
Replacing an A2 or A5 magnet in the neck humbucker with this A3 rough surface nails the open/airy tone I’m after in a PAF-style pickup. I used an un-potted pickup of approx 7.5k, and it just sings.

A3 Goodness
Really nice sounding magnets. Really have that A3 vibe going on. I purchased these for some low output pickups and I probably should have went for a more powerful magnet. They sound nice but just don't have the power I needed. I took a gamble and went the wrong way for my setup. I reckon these would sound great in something like a "HOT" PAF style pickup with a wind around 8k or more. I'm very much in favour for A3 magnets in PAF pickups. Construction is just like the old school days of making magnets. That's what gives them character!!!
