Install with flat side towards fingerboard. Do not remove masking tape from truss rod. Masking tape prevents glue from entering truss rod cover channel. Can be installed with adjustment at soundhole or tuning machine end of the neck.

Truss rod
I have used these on a number of builds and they work just as well as the very similar but more expensive ones from the other luthier supply houses. All in all a very good deal and good quality combined.
