Fibreboards are typically used in the construction of strat and tele single-coil pickups. These are also used for custom designing pickups where ready-made plastic bobbins are not available.
The .062" thickness is usually used for the tops on single coils pickups and for the tops and bottoms of a tele neck pickup. The .093" thickness is usually used for the bottoms.
