This Hosco neck rest is a good, versatile, and solid neck rest for your guitar work. It is certainly not made with great craftsmanship (glue squeeze out, lifting cork padding, and inconsistent carves) but it is all you need for the price. With that in mind, it is a valuable piece. Philadelphia Luthier Tools also offers the best price on this neck rest with a good reputation to back it!
The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the carve on one side of the rest is off, so the neck does not sit as firmly in place as a neck rest normally would. However, it still provides a level surface for fret leveling and setups which holds up well.
You would be hard-pressed to find a more versatile neck rest for the price.
Best neck rest I've seen (or used). The design works very well in that it allows the guitar to adjust to the cradle but remain very stable for working on the neck or frets. I'm impressed with the innovative design and its superior function. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and will use it for repairs, building and more often for changing strings! I like the fact that Philadelphia Luthier Supply is a small family run business, their shipping is always fast and they have excellent customer service and pricing.
Excellent neck rest for setup and solder work. I looked at all of the branded and unbranded options available that I could find before purchasing. This had the best design and was priced fairly in my opinion. I've had it for about 2 months now and the cork hasn't come unglued and it's still in excellent condition.
