PRS SE Pauls guitar - direct fit

Was looking for a direct drop in replacement for the PRS SE Pauls guitar - which in my example didnt hold very well. These are brilliant. Solid as a rock.

    Gotoh Magnum Lock Tuners

Posted by Gary on Jun 23, 2019

I gave these tuners 4 stars because, while the concept is brilliant, the execution could use some refinement. The ends of the holes in the string posts are only lightly chamfered, making a sharpish edge for the string to bend around. When the locking mechanism pushes the string against the top of the hole, that makes the angle more acute. If you tune a lot (use a variety of open tunings, for example) I suggest you make sure you have at least two full turns of the string around the string post so that the string doesn't become fatigued by flexing around that acute angle.
