These are used to install knobs that were designed for 1/4" solid shaft pots on split shaft pots(both fine and coarse splined) and metric 6mm solid shaft pots. These will increase the diameter of the pot's shaft so the knob will sit centered on the shaft.

Perfect fix for upgrading knobs
This item was the perfect solution for allowing me to upgrade the stock Gretstch tuners on my Electromatic series guitar to the Professional line's jeweled knobs. The guitar's stock metric split-shaft master volume knob was too skinny to permit the grub screw on the jeweled knobs to grip. This inexpensive solution resolved the problem. I went ahead and did the same upgrade on 3 of my Electromatics. I've ordered a couple of items from Philadelphia Luthier Tools and have been very happy both times. I will continue to order from them in the futre.

They solder easily.
I wanted a balance pot for my PJ and Jazz basses. The best pot I could find was the 250K CTS but it comes with a splined brass shaft. All the pots on my Fenders are 1/4" solid brass shafts and I have knobs for that style and size shaft. I soldered these sleeves onto the balance pots and they now fit with everything on my basses.

Great product you didn't know you needed!
These work great when mixing knobs and pots of different measurements. Tried to make these years ago on my fathers lathe... these are much nicer than my attempt was :)
