To make sure you are ordering the correct knob for your guitar. Look at the underside of your knob and compare it with the one pictured. The difference would be how far the knob sits above the guitar body when its installed. Many vintage Gibson® guitars have knobs that sit about 1/8" to 1/4" above the body. Many new models (except Gibson® Historics) have knobs that sit flush with the body.

Vintage correct
I've tried this style of knob from other vendors, but they haven't looked any more correct than the current genuine Gibson offering. These knobs, on the other hand, have the correct bell-shape continuous side profile and dished, smooth-mirror surface reflctors with small-typeface Volume and Tone labeling. The others usually have flat-disk reflectors with a 'turned' surface appearance (you can spot this online when the light reflections show as 'rays' emanating from the center) and larger typeface, while the side profile often has an angled 'waistline' break with a recurved 'skirt' below it where the numbers are, neither of which looks vintage-correct. Also the numbers on these knobs look more like the real thing, as does the thinner upper 'lip' around the reflector. No these aren't "aged", but they look good on a vintage guitar and are priced better than most, certainly a whole lot cheaper than the "relic" shops or a real (or fake!) 60's vintage set.
