Finally, a better audio taper
I strongly prefer these flat-back CTS pots to the dished versions that you find on Fender guitars. Usually, CTS "audio taper" pots have a 10% log taper, but these are 15-20% (about 45k at half rotation), which I think is ideal. They don't roll off as annoyingly fast as the 10% audio taper, but don't have a dead zone at the top of the rotation like a typical 30% log taper. And the torque is right in the middle too -- unlike the super low-torque pots, they don't get bumped out of position easily, but they're still easy enough to turn that you can do a decent volume swell. The flat backs are also easier to solder to.

Really can't go wrong choosing CTS pots. They are top quality pots. I use them in all my guitar upgrades. I highly recommend them.
