These are made to fit USA Gibson® guitars and might not fit all imports guitars. example - most Gibson guitars have 5/16"(8mm) clearance on the studs. PLEASE CHECK BEFORE ORDERING!
The aluminum tailpieces weight 1/4 that of the zinc and produce a much different sound. They transfer vibrations differently, resulting in a woodier, more airy vintage tone - richer, rounder mids but with more upper harmonics as well. Back in the '50s, Gibson® used aluminum for their stop bar tailpieces. For whatever reason, they switched to zinc, which is still used today on all but the historic line.

Aluminum tailpiece
Replaced pot metal tailpiece along with clunky Nashville style bridges on 3 Les Pauls with this new lightweight tailpiece and the Pinnacle locking bridge & locking studs. guitars sound great! They’re a little lighter, and have a bit more clarity . A nice improvement for an excellent price.

Tailpiece review
Hidden gem. Has the ‘59 ‘hump’ and the foundry marks on the back that make it period correct. Put one on my 1953-59 conversion and I doe have the burst sound now! Ordered one for my 55-59 conversion as well. When used with Faber long steel studs there is a perfect fit and dramatic inprovement of sound en sustain! Get one before this becomes known:)

Amazing 59 style tailpiece. The Nickel was easy to relic, very light weight. Improved greatly the sound of my Les Paul plugged and acoustically.
