  • High fret finding tool
  • .104” (2.6mm) thick stainless steel
  • Machined flat 1 5/16”, 2 1/16”, 2 15/16” and 3 15/16” sides

This 4-sided straightedge is made for checking fret height, or rather finding the one or two frets that are high or low. The edge lengths are designed so that any one edge can span three frets.  This tools is commonly called the fret rocker because of the way the tool rocks on high and low frets.

    Better than a hammer

Solid staple of guitar work. I use it every time a guitar hits my bench. Works much better than a hammer.

The edges are straight, smoothly-ground, and it is polished nicely for the price. You honestly cannot beat the quality for THIS price!

An essential tool at a great price. Amazon has the same tool in aluminum at the same price. Aluminum? Thanks PLT&S!

    1 edge was not straight

Posted by Nick on Mar 31, 2019

4 stars because 1 (the short side) of the 4 edges was not straight. Not a huge deal, I just put it to my disc sander and fixed it right up and it works like a champ now. If it were a longer edge it would've been a little more problematic.

    Rockin those Frets

Posted by Moses on Oct 8, 2018

Right tool at the right price. Note: Use the edge of the tool, and not the "corner" (where the edge meets the side), when checking frets; the edge is true, the corner not necessarily so. When I get lazy, I'll inadvertently use the corner and think there's a high fret where there is not.
