Best vintage style tuners OF ALL TIME

Posted by ASP Bassie on Dec 22, 2019

NOT drop in replacements for MIM Fender standard Jazz or precision basses. I used some thick silicon heatshrink on the ferrules to make them fit sung and had to drill new mounting holes since the mounting plates are much bigger. There is no slop in the mechanism when not under tension, the stock tuners made a lot of noise when not strung. They are bigger, but each weighs roughly 25 grams less than the stock mim tuners they replaced. Although these tuners required a bit more work installing than I was hoping, they are well worth the extra effort and by far the best vintage tuners you can put on a bass.

The perfect set of fender style bass tuners. These reverse wind lighter weight tuners are top quality. They are a direct replacement for vintage fender style tuners. These will correct a Slightly headstock heavy bass.
    Philly Luthier is top notch!

I installed these on a Fender Classic Series 50s Precision bass (MIM). These tuners appear to be of good quality and we'll machined. It was an easy installation. It solved the neck dive problems. I'm very pleased with the result and I would definitely order from Philadelphia Luther Tools and Supplies again!

In addition to high gear ratio most precession tuning are provided. Tuners are light, not burdening neck and not pull it down when you play standing. Beautiful model's name etching on gears. Good quality.

Fantastic lightweight vintage style bass tunters.

Do you like the vintage style tuners on your bass? So do I. The problem was the weight was always way to much. Now, these tuners do weigh a few grams more (per unit) than the Hipshot ultralights, but it's not nearly enough to make a difference for me. I like the look of the vintage style tuners and I like the large plate for transfer of the string vibration up to the headstock. These are really super nice tuners. Very smooth and adjustable tension. GOTOH hit a home run with these bass tuners.... give them a try, you won't be sorry!
