These conversion posts will allow you to install a US ABR-1 bridge on an Epiphone and other import guitar that was originally equipped with the large post Nashville bridge. Now you can have the same look as the original vintage Gibson guitars! These posts will screw directly into the original body anchors and leave you with 6-32 threaded post like the original ABR-1. Install the included thumbwheels and then your favorite US made ABR-1 bridge. Check out our store for a selection of US ABR-1 bridges that will fit these conversion posts.
**Please check the diameter of your original posts before ordering. The diameter of the threaded section of your bridge posts needs to measure 7.9mm for these to fit. The 7.9 mm (M8) diameter bridge post are found on most Epiphone and the better quality import guitars. Some inexpensive guitars coming from China are using a smaller 6mm(M6) threaded bridge posts. This includes many of the fake Gibson guitars...we do not sell a conversion post or a bridge that will fit these guitars.

These conversion posts do exactly what they are supposed to do and do it well. If your inserts are not flanged or you can change them to not flanged the install will look perfect. Also with a small bit of reaming these will fit standard Gibson spacing. Pretty Good! If your action adjustment is high you may want to get a couple of extra adjustment thumb nuts. I am one of those who believe having them will improve tone. I also go over the stop tail piece rather than thru it. Smoother action and more complex harmonics.
These work great! The tolerances could be just a little snugger but I didn't change the bushings in the guitar so it could have more to do with that then the conversion posts. All in all, I 'm happy!
These have been the heart to bringing the true tone out of my import collection. I've installed two sets with an ABR-1 bridge from Philadelphia Luthier Supply on a first run Korean Tokai Love Rock and a replica '59 that was made by a Japanese builder. Both guitars were night and day once installed. I honestly don't know if it's the metals available overseas or not, but the guitars are extremely resonant now and besides that, they just look better! For the cost, it's probably the most cost effective upgrade you can do to your import besides pickups.
I am building an LP kit. The body is already drilled for inserts to mount the bridge studs. I want to mount a Gibson ABR -1 bridge. These studs screw right into the inserts that came with the kit. My ABR-1 bridge sits on them very nicely. These saved me a ton of time.
These fit perfectly on my Epiphone Les Paul Standard to convert the original post sockets to fit an ABR-1 style bridge.
I have a set in chrome and a set in gold. Both fit my import guitar bridge bushings well and were extremely easy to install. I can't vouch for any noticeable sonic/sustain differences from the original metric studs, but it looks more "Gibsony"! The price point also make them an affordable modification to consider. Of course you need to buy the appropriate bridge as well.
They work great!! Just replace the regular post with these, install a gold abr-1 bridge and its done.
