This is part of GOTOH's high-performance SX510 series of open gear tuning machines. The SXN510 features GOTOH's Rock-Solid string post and a nut mounting system to accurately position the string post through the mounting base plate. GOTOH's unique design and manufacturing provides improved performance and durability not seen in open back tuning machines.
The SX510 series tuning machines are available in four different versions. The tuning machines sold here is in BOLD.

Great fit on my Martin acoustic that had the standard Martin closed back tuners, no adjustments needed just another hole drilled for the additional screw in these tuners. Very pleased with ease of installation and performance - I’ve been using them for about a month now.

Gotoh sxn510 machines
I used them to replace some Gibson Deluxe plastic key machines. A worthy upgrade in appearance and function. Uses the same screw hole spacing.

GOTOH SXN510 OPEN BACK 3 X 3 GUITAR TUNING MACHINES - SET
Gotoh in general make fantastic tuners for a very fair price. These tuners are well finished and mechanically refined. They turn smoothly and have a consistent feel from each tuner in the set, thanks in part to the innovative screw on bushing similar to thier premium closed machines. They are light weight and have the iconic look that most players expect on high end American made guitars. I would prefer slot head screws to the Philips but, not a deal breaker. Whether building a new guitar or retrofitting an old one these tuners fit the bill for simple elegant well made smooth working long lasting tuners.

Super smooth tuners that stand up to the way-more-expensive W@#$%!& brand. Seriously, the Gotoh 510 open back tuners are hard to beat.
