Works great. High quality and affordable.

Great File
This is an excellent file for getting the frets roughed out quickly. It also worked well for the initial filing of the fret ends. I stuck it to a wooden handle with the thick 3M double sided tape. I've now purchased three Hosco tools and all were excellent quality. I plan to buy more Hosco tools in the future.

Fret file hoscoe brand
Guys I had ordered a Telecaster neck loved it except one fret was lower than the others so much to my surprise this file completely made my guitar playable and every fret rings true thanks Philadelphia luthier!

Not Flat
I’ve had good luck with other hosco products, but this file was not flat at all. I use the side that bows out for dealing with fret sprout, but as a fret file it is worthless.

Fret Leveling File
I have 2 leveling beams, 7" I made, a 12" and a 2 ", all double cut. This single cut is much better. I use it above the 12th fret to create fall away.

Great file!
Good weight, awesome workability, Even flat for a quick guide

Superior quality
This is a very nice file. Doesn't leave chatter marks and cuts smoothly. You can use it without a handle, but soon you'll realize you want to make one for it. Two side file, this must be the best value file for leveling. It also works great on fret ends and beveling.

Great file for a great price
I apprenticed with a master luthier to learn building and repair. I decided to pursue a different career path, but still do all my own work, and will do repairs for friends as well. While I was apprenticing, I had a nicer budget than I do now, so I bought everything I needed from a major online retailer and paid handsomely for it. Most of my tools were stolen a couple of years ago. I recently procured a nice PRS baritone that need a mill and re-crown and looked up the few tools I would need to do it. Nashville repair shops charge and arm and a leg to do this simple task and I figured I get the tools for the same price from the other major online retailer. Then I found Philadelphia Luthier Supply and could get everything for about half the price. It would be nice if this file had a handle on it, but I'm sure that contributes to its low price. Even you don't do fret-work on a daily basis, it is just fine. I had my new axe leveled and crowned and playing like a million bucks in no time. I highly recommend this file for the do-it-your-selfer!
