    Absolutely Perfect

I bought this and with a little sanding and some bone bridge pins my 1966 Gibson j-50 completely came alive with an incredible difference in sustain and volume. Could not be happier.

Adjustable bone saddle for Gibson acoustics

Posted by Hugh Batters on Apr 23, 2021

Very highly recommended. Had a 1964 J45 with adjustable bridge that sounded muddy. Whilst on loan a guy replaced my original bridge with what looks like the same shape rosewood insert. This bone one once again brings out the highs and the volume. Definitely works for me

    Bone saddle

Thanks to Philadelphia Luthier for having this available and for the fast service and fair price. I just got a 1965 Gibson J-50. It has a ceramic saddle. I wanted to know what it would sound like with bone. It was easy to swap into place. But the sound was thin, and the guitar lost its round, full bottom tone. I went back to the ceramic. Nothing wrong with this product. I just didn't care for the sound.

    Gibson replacement adjustable bone saddle

Fast delivery here to France. Perfect fit in my Gibson TG 25, a tenor guitar from 1964. Sound perfect 100% better than the old ceramic. Love it.

Replacement Adjustable Bone Saddle for Gibson® Acoustic guitars

Posted by Michael Velten on Sep 26, 2018

The original wooden saddle on my early 70s Gibson LG-12 was pretty chewed up. A friend recommended this so I ordered it. A little light sanding and it fit perfectly. I couldn't recommend it, and Philadelphia Luthier Tools, any more highly!

    68 Gibson J160e experiment

With some minor sanding, the saddle fit perfectly in the slot made for the adjustable saddle. I removed the original rosewood saddle and changed to this bone. I heard a definite tone and volume improvement acoustically and also pluged in. This guitar has always sounded good plugged in but never did project acoustically. It still doesn't compare to my other acoustic guitars but is a welcome improvement. I'll keep the old rosewood saddle because it's original but will be playing with the bone.
