Indian Rosewood with its tight and straight grain lines is considered denser than Indian Rosewood. It is known for its well-balanced tonal properties and for producing strong lows and highs.
**Because each saddle is unique…color and appearance will vary from the images above. You cannot expect these saddles to match exactly to your original bridge or saddle. You can adjust the color by applying lemon oil (fingerboard oil) to darken or by sitting it in the sun to lighten.

Rosewood saddle
Thanks to Philadelphia Luthier for having this available and for the fast service and fair price. I just got a 1965 Gibson J-50. It has a ceramic saddle. I wanted to know what it would sound like with rosewood. It was easy to swap into place. The sound was warmer, but kind of muddy. It lost clarity and ring. I went back to the ceramic. Nothing wrong with this product. I just didn't care for the sound.
